What do you see as vital for a successful creative career?
Inspired creativity is one of the most rewarding but challenging ways to earn a living. There’s no standard ‘operating manual’ for running your own creative business so you need to rely on gut instinct, tenacity and self-confidence much of the time.
What’s the best way to develop these skills?
Creative entrepreneurs need healthy doses of authenticity, resilience and self- compassion in order to know what they stand for and what they want to achieve. A healthy lifestyle is key for this but of more importance is developing and strengthening a healthy mind!
What’s a key factor in developing a healthy mind?
I’m a big believer in embracing our vulnerability in order to muster the courage and self-belief that we need to be inspired creatives.
Instead of focusing on trying to get it perfect or worrying about what other people might think, I see vulnerability as being our most accurate measurement of courage – to let ourselves be seen and to be honest with ourselves and others is a huge thing to do – especially when we’re in the creative sector and constantly exposing ourselves to criticism and rejection.
Vulnerability truly is the birthplace of innovation, creation and change.
Join Ellenor for a workshop to learn the three key steps for embracing courage and vulnerability. Having these skills front of mind each day will allow you to flourish and grow as creative entrepreneurs.
